Privacy policy

The short version

This is a personal website. It has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts. I do not collect your personal information through this site, and I do not sell it.

The sections below explain the few places where data does move, so you can decide what you are comfortable with.

What this site collects

Nothing is collected from you directly. The site has no contact form, so there is no database of messages. Search runs entirely in your browser against an index published with the site, and your search terms are never sent anywhere.

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard access logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are used for security and to keep the site running, not to profile visitors.

What is stored on your device

The site remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Third-party services

• Cal.com. The Schedule page embeds the Cal.com (opens in a new tab) booking calendar. If you book a meeting, the details you enter (such as your name, email and the time you choose) are handled by Cal.com under its own privacy policy. Nothing loads from Cal.com until you open that page.
• YouTube. A few pages embed videos using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube sets no cookies until you play a video.
• LinkedIn. The newsletter is delivered by LinkedIn. If you subscribe, LinkedIn handles your subscription under its own terms. This site never sees it.
• Links to other sites. Links to GitHub, npm, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, publishers and event organizers take you to services with their own privacy practices.
• Fonts. The fonts used on this site are served from this site itself, not from a third-party font service.

If you email me

If you write to contact@deepakkamboj.com, I use your message and address only to reply and to follow up on that conversation. I do not add you to mailing lists or share your details with others. I keep emails for as long as the conversation is useful, and I will delete them on request.

Your choices

You can browse this site without giving me any information. You can clear your theme preference by clearing site data in your browser. If you would like to ask what I hold about you, or ask me to delete an email thread, write to contact@deepakkamboj.com and I will respond.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts using analytics, a contact form or any other service that handles personal data, I will update this page first and change the date at the top.
